Ask for help.
MEGA SELF is a framework that supports and empowers YOU – but sometimes you will need help. Asking for help can feel uncomfortable but it is the most courageous thing you can do when the challenge of helping yourself becomes too overwhelming.
Within the MEGA SELF framework, we believe in empowering you and one of the most important parts of that journey is knowing when to seek help.
Many people struggle with reaching out but at MEGA SELF we believe it is the most courageous thing you will ever do.
We all need help at different stages of our lives and asking for help is a vital skill to learn and use though your life.
YOU ALONE MUST DO IT – BUT YOU CAN’T DO IT ALONE!
Here are a few reasons why you might struggle to reach out when life becomes overwhelming.
You worry people will think that you are weak and unable to deal with your challenges.
Try changing your perspective to – Being vulnerable and asking for help shows that I am authentically human. I am willing to seek support for challenges I do not have the answers for – this is ultimately COURAGE and STRENGTH, and it gives others permission to do the same.
You do not think that talking to someone is going to help.
Try changing your perspective to – I am open and willing to share my challenges with people I trust. Maybe they can share a solution I have not been able to see. I am also open to learning ways to move through this challenge. I can always learn more.
I don’t want to burden others.
Try changing your perspective to – I strengthen my relationships and create deeper connections when I am open and vulnerable. My friends and family want to help. Maybe they can recommend a professional I can talk too. A problem shared is a problem halved.
